Majestic (motorcycle)
The Majestic was a motorcycle by the French manufacturer Majestic, which was built from 1928 to 1934. After the Ner-a-Car, the Majestic was one of the first motorcycles with wheel hub steering .
History and technology
As early as 1925, designer Georges Roy developed motorcycles under the New Motorcycle brand in Châtenay-Malabry . With the establishment of the manufacturer Majestic (1927/28), Roy constructed stylistically extraordinary motorcycles. The Majestic 350 had a Train - built-in motor with a cylinder , overhead valve , 350 cc and a maximum power of 11 PS (8 kW) at 4000 min -1 . The top speed of the motorcycle equipped with a 3-speed gearbox was 90 km / h; drum brakes were used to brake. In the Majestic 500 model there were other built-in motors u. a. by JAP . A pressed steel body, which visually looked like full cladding, enveloped the drive unit. While the rear wheel remained unsprung, the front wheel was guided linearly on both sides, was coil-sprung and had a wheel hub steering .
The top model, the Majestic 1000 , was offered with a built-in four-cylinder engine from Cleveland (Ohio) and cardan drive.
