Karl Petritz

Karl Petritz (born November 12, 1941 in Feldkirchen in Kärnten , Carinthia ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Karl Petritz, who was born in Waiern , a cadastral community of Feldkirchen, learned the trade of tool and machine builder after attending compulsory schools from 1954 to 1957 . After that, interrupted by his military service , he worked in this profession until 1964. After a seminar at a federal finance school in Vienna , Petritz found work at the tax office in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee . 1973 he got over the second chance at a Handelsakademie the maturation after.

His political career began in 1969 when he was elected local party chairman of the Austrian People's Party in the municipality of Steuerberg . Since 1985 he has been the mayor of Steuerberg. From 1993 to 2005 he was district chairman of the senior citizens' union in the Feldkirchen district . From 2005 to 2013 Petritz headed the Carinthian Seniors' Union.

From 2009 to 2013 Petritz was a member of the Federal Council for the ÖVP .

After an election scandal in July 2013, Andreas Khol expelled him from the Austrian Seniors ' Association. and in December 2013 he was finally voted out of office as chairman of the Carinthian Seniors' Association. His successor was Carsten Johannssen. Petritz sued this election, but lost this suit in August 2014.
