Makale are a Turkish hip-hop group from Basel .
history
Makale was founded in 1998. Casus as Kadir Özkan (his pseudonym means 'spy' in Turkish ), Şiddet MC as Erdem Cayir (his pseudonym means 'violence') and DJ Steel are the members of the trio. At first they gave concerts and thus spread Turkish rap. The rise for her was working with Dar Bêïda 04 . You are represented on the same album with Nina Hagen , Amina and Natacha Atlas .
They later got an offer from the indie label Barraka El Farnatshi and released their debut album Kingztanbul in 2002 . This was also Switzerland's first Turkish Rap album. Most of it was produced by Pat Jabbar . The videos Kingztanbul and Bu Bilmeyene were shown on VIVA and on channels in Turkey.
The second album "Tamam" followed, produced by Misda Oz. Two video clips were also released, which proved to be a success on the Swiss music channel VIVA. "Tamam" was also launched in Turkey. After the release of the second album, Makale was on the road and played concerts in Germany, Holland and Turkey.
After the concert phase, the band went back to the studio to record their third album "Sizofren". It was again worked closely with Misda Oz. And DJ Def Cut also contributed to this with his massive beats. In addition, two video clips were shot again, which were in Air Play on various music channels.
The topics that they take up in their texts are current events, their own life experiences, war, love, hope and disappointment.
