Macedonia and its Christian population
La Macédoine et sa Population Chrétienne is a book writtenin French that wasprintedin Paris in 1905. The author, under the pseudonym Brankov, is a former secretary of the Bulgarian Exarchate Dimitr Mishev. The book was later published in Bulgarian translation as Македония и нейното християнско население .
The book is a detailed statistical description of the settlements in the Ottoman province of Macedonia . It contains the number, ethnic and religious affiliation of the Christian population, the number of Christian schools ( Bulgarian , Greek , Serbian or Wallachian ) and the number of teachers and students in it.
Macedonia and its Christian population is the second comprehensive statistic of the Bulgarian population in Macedonia after the first, fundamental work by Vassil Kanchov's Macedonia. Ethnography and Statistics , published in 1900.
The book does not contain any information for regions that were the target of Serbian propaganda activity in Macedonia at that time and the associated separation of some localities from the Bulgarian exarchate . As there would be:
