Makedonija ( Bulgarian Македония , dt. Macedonia ) was a Bulgarian newspaper which was published between 1866 and 1872 in the Ottoman capital Constantinople by Petko Slawejkow . Employees of the newspaper were among other Gavril Krastevich , Marin Drinov , Todor Ikonomow , Kuzman Schapkarew , Krastjo Pischurka and more.

The newspaper was one of the organs of the strong Bulgarian community in exile in Constantinople at that time and played a central role in the Bulgarians' struggle for an independent Bulgarian church (→ Bulgarian Exarchate ) and school education during the period of the Bulgarian National Revival .

The newspaper published news, articles and debates in both Bulgarian and Greek. First published in 1866, the Makedonija newspaper was, alongside Bulgarski orel (published by Iwan Bogorow in Leipzig) and Zarigradski westnik (published by Alexander Exarch in Constantinople), one of the very first Bulgarian newspapers and one of the most popular of the time.

The newspaper was behind the first steps of the Bulgarian women's movement which called for education for women, equality and the establishment of women's associations. There was a section in the newspaper on economic issues calling for the modernization of agriculture and education of the rural population. In the foreign policy section, the policies of the great powers were reproduced.
