Marin Stoyanov Drinow (also Marin Stoyanov Drinov written Bulgarian Марин Стоянов Дринов , in Russia under Марин Степанович Дринов / Marin Drinov Stepanovich known; * 20th October 1838 in Panagyurishte , Ottoman Empire †, 13. March 1906 in Kharkov , Russian Empire is) a Bulgarian reconnaissance aircraft from the time of the Bulgarian National revival , historian and linguist who worked most of his life in Russia. He is considered one of the founders of Bulgarian historiography, a founding member and first chairman of the Bulgarian Literary Society (today's Bulgarian Academy of Sciences ).

He went to Russia in 1858 to study history and philology at the universities in Kiev and Moscow. From 1865 to 1871 he worked and traveled in Austria and Italy. From 1876 he was a professor at Kharkov University .

The freedom fighter Najden Drinow was his brother. The scientific publishing house of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences has been called Marin Drinow since 1994 . Since 2008 he has also given its name to Drinov Peak , a mountain on Smith Island in Antarctica.
