The German Makita Werkzeug GmbH is a wholly-owned sales subsidiary of the global Makita Corporation based in Japan. The group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of craft machines. Makita Werkzeug GmbH has been active in Germany since 1977 and currently (2012) has around 200 employees. The company is based in Ratingen-Lintorf .
history
In 1977 the German sales office of Makita Werkzeug GmbH was established in Ratingen-Tiefenbroich. After the company quickly became too big for the administration there, Makita built a new building with storage space and administration wing in Duisburg in 1990. After the area in Duisburg had become too small, a much larger property was bought in Ratingen-Lintorf and a new building was built. In addition to storage and dispatch halls, an administration building and a training center with demonstration and exhibition rooms as well as a significantly enlarged workshop area for the service technicians were built. The move took place at the turn of the year 2010/2011. Since then, the company has been based in Ratingen-Lintorf.
Products
Makita tools are designed for professional users. Of the around 1,000 devices of the group worldwide, around 700 tools from the areas of cordless, electric, petrol and compressed air tools, stationary woodworking machines and garden tools plus sets, variants and SystemKIT as well as the appropriate accessories are offered in Germany. The tools are developed in the Makita Group and produced in our own production facilities in Japan, Germany ( DOLMAR ), Great Britain, Romania, China, Brazil and the USA.
Distribution channels
Makita machines are only sold nationwide through specialist dealers. Since gasoline-powered tools and equipment require special transport and maintenance conditions, these are repaired by the Dolmar and Briggs & Stratton service stations (lawn mowers only).
