Makoto Miura

Makoto Miura (* 1949 in Gojôme, Akita , Japan ) is a Japanese - Austrian sculptor and university professor .

Live and act

After completing a technical training, Miura first came to Europe during a trip from 1970 to 1973 and received Austrian citizenship in 1985.

From 1974 to 1979 the artist studied sculpture with Erwin Reiter at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz , where he has been teaching the master class in sculpture since 1994.

His preferred materials are bronze, wood and steel. Characteristic of his work are the interior spaces that can be walked in and interlock with the exterior.
