Makoto Moroi

Makoto Moroi ( Japanese 諸 井 誠 , Moroi Makoto , born December 17, 1930 in Tokyo Prefecture ; † September 2, 2013 ) was a Japanese composer.

Career

The son of the composer Saburō Moroi studied composition with Tomojirō Ikenouchi . He has taught Gregorian chant at the Hiroshima Music Institute and composition at the Tokyo Conservatory.

He composed a symphony , a piano concerto, a concert suite for violin and orchestra, three chamber cantatas, five “orchestral compositions”, works for electronic instruments and vocal works with various instrumental accompaniments. His compositions are in the tradition of Anton Webern .
