Malai is a small island in the Siassi Islands of Papua New Guinea in the western Bismarck Sea . The island is surrounded by an open reef formation.
Malai is about 7 km southwest of Umboi , the main island of the Siassi Islands. Tuam , the southernmost of the Siassi Islands, is around 11 km to the southeast .
