The Maldives anemonefish ( Amphiprion nigripes ) lives in the coral reefs around the Maldives and Sri Lanka at depths of 2 to 25 meters. It is orange-brown with black ventral and anal fins . There is a vertical white band at the back of the head. Amphiprion nigripes becomes up to eleven centimeters long.

The dorsal fin has ten to eleven hard and 17 to 18 soft rays, the anal fin has two hard and 13 to 15 soft rays.

He only lives with the symbiotic anemone Heteractis magnifica .
