Malkapur is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra .

The city is part of the Buldhana district . Malkapur has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 27 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had a total of 67,740 inhabitants, of which 34,693 were men and 33,047 women. Hindus form the largest group of the city's population with a share of over 46%, followed by Muslims with over 45%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 87.94%, well above the national average.
