Mallawi ( Arabic ملوي, DMG Mallawī ) is a city in the center of Egypt in the governorate al-Minya with approx. 190,000 inhabitants. The city is located in an agricultural area and produces textiles and handicrafts. The city borders the Nile to the east and has a museum with old works of art. The museum was looted in 2013 and reopened in 2016 after three years.
