Malpractice is a Finnish progressive metal band from Kouvola that was formed in 1994.
history
The band was formed in 1994. After the band had developed the first songs, they released the EP Memorial in 1996, their first sound carrier. In the same year a second EP called Frozen was released . In March 1998 the band recorded their debut album at the Music Bros Studio in Imatra under the direction of Miitri Aaltonen . The album was released under the name Of Shape and Balance in September on Mastervox Records . In the following years the band released two more EPs. Through a demo called Circles and Lines in 2004, the band landed a deal with Spinefarm Records in December . The second album Deviation from the Flow was recorded in April 2005 at Astia Studio under the direction of producer Anssi Kippo ( Children of Bodom , Teräsbetoni ). The album was released in 2006. The next album Triangular followed in 2008.

The band plays classic progressive metal, with the vocals being exceptionally high and more typical of power metal .
