Pietro Farina (born May 7, 1942 in Maddaloni ; † September 24, 2013 in Pozzilli ) was Bishop of Caserta .

Life

Pietro Farina studied theology and philosophy at the seminary of Benvenuto and at the Seminario Francese a Roma after graduating from the small seminary of Caserta . He graduated from the Pontifical Gregorian University in theology and social sciences. Ordained a priest on June 26, 1966, he was a member of the Missionaries of the Kingdom of Christ . For many years he was pastor in Mezzano , assistant to the diocesan Catholic Action , rector of the Minor Seminary , professor at the Institute for Religious Studies and vicar general . He was regional director of Associazione Nazionale San Paolo Italia (ANSPI) and assistant to the Movimento Ecclesiale di Impegno Culturale (MEIC) . He was committed to the Fondazione Villaggio dei Ragazzi .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Alife-Caiazzo on February 16, 1999 . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Lucas Cardinal Moreira Neves OP , donated him episcopal ordination on April 17th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Michele Cardinal Giordano , Archbishop of Naples , and Raffaele Nogaro , Bishop of Caserta. As a motto he chose Et resurrexit .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Caserta on April 25, 2009 .
