Pozzilli is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 2266 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Isernia in Molise . The municipality is located about 16 kilometers southwest of Isernia and borders directly on the provinces of Frosinone and Caserta . The south-eastern municipal boundary is the Volturno .

history

There is a Samnite necropolis near the village of Camerelle . Part of the Augustus Aqueduct has been preserved from Roman antiquity. Until 1810 Pozzilli was part of the neighboring municipality of Venafro .

Economy and Transport

Neuromedical research companies have settled in the municipality after one of the most important research centers in Italy in this area was established here in 1991. A branch of the SR 6, the Strada Statale 6 Diramzione Via Casilina , which connects with the Strada Statale 85 Venafrana , runs through the municipality .
