Malta Song for Europe 1994 (abbreviation: MSFE 1994 ) was the Maltese preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1994 , which took place in Dublin ( Ireland ) after Niamh Kavanagh had won the Eurovision Song Contest the previous year with her song In Your Eyes . The competition was won by Chris & Moira with the song More Than Love . The competition was also known as Festival tal-Kanzunetta Maltija għall-Ewropa 1994 .

principle

A total of 10 entries were selected by an expert jury to participate in the semi-finals, which took place on February 3rd and 4th, 1994 in the Mediterranean Conference Center . In contrast to previous years, the songs were performed exclusively in English on February 3rd and 4th . For the first time, all placements were revealed in the final and not just the first three placements. The jury selected the 5 finalists with 100% of the votes, who entered on February 5th to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The artists had the choice of performing their songs in English or Maltese , since both languages are their official language, but they all chose English.
