principle
A total of 18 entries were selected by an expert jury to participate in the final, which took place on February 4, 1995 in the Mediterranean Conference Center . The songs were first presented on February 3rd and the final took place on February 4th. On February 3rd and 4th, as in the previous year, the songs were performed exclusively in English . In contrast to the previous year, only the first three places in the final were revealed, as in the years 1991-1993. The jury selected the 18 finalists with 100% of the vote, who entered on February 4th to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest.
For the first time, there was no semi-final in the preliminary round, but instead a round of introductions on the day before the final.
The artists had the choice of performing their songs in English or Maltese , since both languages are their official language, but they all chose English.
