Claudette Buttigieg

Claudette Buttigieg , née Claudette Pace (born February 8, 1968 in Naxxar ) is a Maltese singer , television presenter and politician .

The singer, trained in jazz , took part in various music competitions, and from 1993 onwards repeatedly in the Maltese pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest . In 2000 she made it on the seventh attempt and was allowed to travel to Stockholm for the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 . With her pop title Desire she reached number 8 there.

She continued her media career as a host of various television shows on Maltese television. After working for the Maltese Ministry of Health, she went into politics and was elected to the Maltese House of Representatives as a member of the Partit Nazzjonalista in 2013. In 2017 she was able to repeat this election success and holds the office of Deputy Speaker in the 13th electoral term .
