Maly Tjuters or Klein Tütters ( Russian Малый Тютерс , Finnish .: Säyvö or Pien-Tytärsaari , Estonian : Väike Tütarsaar ; Swedish : Lilla Tyterskär ) is an approximately 1.6 km² Russian island in the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea . It belongs to the Leningrad Oblast .

location

The uninhabited island is located around 15 km southwest of the island of Bolshoi Tjuters ( Большой Тютерс ) and 30 km south of the island of Gogland ( Гогланд ). It is ( apart from the small island Rodscher ( Родшер ) and the two Virginy Islands ( Острова Виргины )) the westernmost of the islands in the Gulf of Finland under Russian sovereignty. There are two lighthouses on the island .

history

The island was ceded to the Soviet Union by Finland in 1940/1944/1947 along with other islands in the Gulf of Finland .
