Mamare Tōno

Mamare Tōno ( Japanese 橙 乃 ま ま れ ; * August 25, 19xx in Tokyo Prefecture ), actually Daisuke Umezu ( 梅 津 大 輔 ), is a Japanese light novel author.

Career

On September 3, 2009, Mamare Tōno opened the thread "Maō: 'Kono Ware no Mono to Nare, Yūsha yo' Yūsha: 'Kotowaru!'" ( の. 『 ) In the Internet forum 2channel under the pseudonym Marmalade Sand ( マ マ レ ー ド サ ン ド , Mamarēdo Sando ) 我 の も の と な れ 、 勇者 よ 』勇者『 断 る! 』 ," Demon King: 'Be mine, hero!' Hero: 'Rejected!' "). There he published over three months in discussion with the other thread participants an Internet novel with a length of 900,000 characters. For the New Year of the following year, the game designer Shōji Masuda became aware of the work on Twitter . Masuda offered Mamare Tōno a few months later in Golden Week to help put the work into book form. Tōno was finally taken under contract by the Enterbrain publishing house , which has been professionally publishing the work as a light novel (illustrated novel) under the title Maoyū Maō Yūsha since December 29, 2010.

In addition, Tōno published on the website Shōsetsuka ni narō ( 小説家 に な ろ う , "Become a novelist"), on which users can publish self-written novels, the work Log Horizon , which served him as an experiment on how to write a book in the Japanese narrative style Kishōtenketsu . This, too, was subsequently published professionally by Enterbrain, with the first five volumes being published in 2011 alone. These sold more than 300,000 times.

For the FlexComics publishing house , Tōno also works with the manga artist Takashi Mizuguchi ( 水口 鷹 志 ) on the manga Hōkago no Trattoria ( 放 課後 の ト ラ ッ ト リ ア , Hōkago no Torattoria ), which has been published in FlexComics Blood magazine since July 27, 2011 , later comic Meteor appears.

In April 2015, it became known that the Tokyo Tax Authority had initiated a tax investigation against him and his rights management company KK m2ladeJAM for not properly reporting the 120 million yen in royalties on his novels as income over the past three years and concluded this with an additional tax payment.
