Enterbrain ( Japanese エ ン タ ー ブ レ イ ン , Entāburein ) is an imprint of the Japanese publisher Kadokawa .

Enterbrain has its origins in the company ASCII Eiga KK ( ア ス キ ー 映 画 株式会社 , Asukī Eiga Kabushiki kaisha ), which was founded on January 30, 1987 , as a film subsidiary of ASCII . In 1997 the name was changed to KK ASCII Visual Entertainment ( 株式会社アスキービジュアルエンタテインメント, Kabushiki-gaisha Asuki Bijuaru Entateinmento ) and after a reorganization on April 1, 2000 KK Enterbrain ( 株式会社エンターブレイン, Kabushiki-gaisha Entāburein ), and became the ASCII Subsidiary MediaLeaves, which became a subsidiary of Kadokawa Group Holdings in 2004.

Enterbrain specializes in the publication of various video game magazines as well as strategy guides and other print products in the video game sector as well as the development of entertainment software and also offers other services in this sector, including industry information and licensing services.

In 2010, Enterbrain merged with the parent company MediaLeaves. In 2013, the Kadokawa Group Holdings was renamed Kadokawa and on October 1, 2013, the eight publishers of the group, including Enterbrain, dissolved as independent companies and continued as brands (Imprints) of Kadokawa.
