Werdershausen is a district of Gröbzig in the unitary community of Southern Anhalt in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt . It lies roughly in the middle of the triangle between Halle (Saale) , Bernburg and Köthen, about two kilometers south of Gröbzig. The Fuhne flows west past the place. The location is limited on three sides by the Fuhneaue nature reserve (LSG 49), which also includes the restored former water park.

history

Werdershausen was founded in 1566/67 by Hartwig von dem Werder on the remains of the former Gröbziger Vorwerk Sorge and the desolate village of Gerbißdorff .

Transport links

Werdershausen can be reached via the federal motorway 14 . From the Löbejün exit located between Halle and Magdeburg, it is about 8 km to Werdershausen via Löbejün and Cattau . Since 2010 the supraregional "Fuhneradweg", a connection between the Mulde and the Saaleradweg , has been running through the town. The Werdershausen stop was on the Nauendorf – Gerlebogk railway line , which has since been closed.

Personalities

The most famous citizen of the place is the poet Diederich von dem Werder (1587 - 1657), who was born on the Werdershausen manor.

On May 16, 1995, then Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl landed on the sports field in a helicopter in Werdershausen during an election campaign tour. After a tour of the village and discussions with local residents, he flew on after a good two hours.

Club life

The Werdershausen Carneval Association (founded in 1988), the Heimat- und Gesangverein and the Hundeverein are active. There are also events such as setting the maypole with the associated football tournament, the village festival with ring riding and the Easter bonfire .
