Repau is a district of the city of Southern Anhalt in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt . It belongs to the village of Libehna .

The village of Repau is located between the district town of Köthen (Anhalt) in the north-west and Bitterfeld-Wolfen in the south-east.

history

In contrast to most places in what is now the city of Southern Anhalt, Repau did not belong to the Principality of Anhalt , although it was in the middle of the area. As an exclave, the place was affiliated to the Electoral Saxon Office of Zörbig until 1815 . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna he came to Prussia and in 1816 the district Bitterfeld in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged since an exclave.

On April 1, 1942, the Prussian exclave towns of Möst bei Schierau , Pösigk , Priorau , Repau and Schierau with the border town of Goltewitz were assigned to the Anhalt district of Dessau-Köthen during an exchange of territory between the Free States of Prussia and Anhalt . In return, the Anhalt border town of Wadendorf became part of the Prussian district of Bitterfeld.

Repau was incorporated into Libehna on July 1, 1950 . This was an independent municipality in the administrative community of Southern Anhalt with the associated districts of Repau and Locherau until the new unitary community of Southern Anhalt was formed on January 1, 2010 . Since then, Repau has been part of the town of Libehna in southern Anhalt.
