Sankt Walpurgis Church in Hohnsdorf

Hohnsdorf is a village in Saxony-Anhalt , in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district . It belongs to the Trebbichau district on the Fuhne of the city of southern Anhalt .

history

The first documentary mention of Hohnsdorf, as Hunddisdoppe , took place in a document dated December 28, 1156, in which the places Thurau , Zabitz , Klepzig , Ilbersdorf , Libbesdorf and Reppichau are mentioned. The Walburgis Church was mentioned as early as the 11th century. Between Hohnsdorf and Trebbichau an der Fuhne to the east, there used to be a place called Wachau or Wagau , for which four house owners are mentioned in 1589. From 1156 to 1786 the von Krosigk family owned the Hohnsdorf estate. In 1786 Prince Karl Georg Lebrecht von Anhalt-Köthen bought the place for 35,000 gold thalers. On July 1, 1950, Hohnsdorf was incorporated into Trebbichau.

Buildings

The village's Protestant Sankt Walpurgis Church dates back to the Romanesque period , but has now been rebuilt in the 18th century with a baroque appearance.
