Hinsdorf is a district of the city of Southern Anhalt in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The village of Hinsdorf is located about 15 kilometers southwest of Dessau and 15 kilometers east of the city of Köthen (Anhalt) . The area between the Elbe and Fuhne is very poorly forested and is used intensively for agriculture. The Mosigkauer Heide northeast of Hinsdorf is one of the few large contiguous forest areas in the region.

history

Hinsdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1401 and can therefore look back on over 600 years of history.

Up until the new formation of the unified community of Southern Anhalt on January 1, 2010, Hinsdorf was an independent community in the administrative community of Southern Anhalt . The last mayor of Hinsdorf was Hans-Rainer Homann.

The road connection from Köthen (Anhalt) to Bitterfeld-Wolfen runs through Hinsdorf . Local public transport bus routes lead to Köthen and Salzfurtkapelle (part of the city of Zörbig ).
