history
Mastre was first mentioned in 1253 and was sold by Johann von Gatersleben to Prince Albrecht II in 1338. The place has been called Massdorf since 1469 . In 1844 279 people lived here. The old church of the place, which already existed in the 14th century, was demolished in 1901 and replaced by a new building.
Until the new formation of the unitary community of Southern Anhalt on January 1, 2010, Maasdorf was an independent community in the administrative community of Southern Anhalt .

coat of arms
Blazon : "In blue a black contoured silver bell on a curved golden bell cage with five black nail heads."
The design of a coat of arms for Maasdorf was commissioned by the municipality in April 1998 in order to have an officially approved emblem of the place in the seal, on the flag and in other use, in accordance with the rules of heraldry.
Up until then, Maasdorf did not have an officially approved coat of arms, but it has been proven that it had used a bell in the image seal for many decades. This bell refers to a parish bell of the local church. It is the smaller of two existing bells and was probably cast in Reinsdorf in the 13th century. Her writing tape bears the words: "Oh, King of the Earth, come in peace, she should be called Johanna."
During the GDR era, Maasdorf also had its bell in a coat of arms designed by him. Since this was heraldically incorrect, however, a redesign was required for approval, which was carried out by the municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch .
