Pösigk is a district of the city of Southern Anhalt in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt . It belongs to the village of Prosigk .
geography
The village of Pösigk lies between the district town of Köthen (Anhalt) in the north-west and Bitterfeld-Wolfen in the south-east.
history
In contrast to most places in what is now the city of Southern Anhalt, Pösigk did not belong to the Principality of Anhalt , although it was in the middle of the area. As an exclave, the place was affiliated to the Electoral Saxon Office of Bitterfeld until 1815 . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna he came to Prussia and in 1816 the district Bitterfeld in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged since an exclave.
On April 1, 1942, the Prussian exclave towns of Möst bei Schierau , Pösigk, Priorau , Repau and Schierau with the border town of Goltewitz were assigned to the Anhalt district of Dessau-Köthen during an exchange of territory between the Free States of Prussia and Anhalt . In return, the Anhalt border town of Wadendorf became part of the Prussian district of Bitterfeld.
Pösigk was incorporated into Cosa on July 1, 1950 . The municipality of Cosa with the districts of Cosa, Pösigk and Ziebigk was incorporated into the municipality of Prosigk (with the districts of Prosigk and Fernsdorf) on January 1, 2005 . Prosigk, on the other hand, was an independent municipality in the administrative community of Südliches Anhalt with the associated districts of Cosa, Fernsdorf, Pösigk, Prosigk and Ziebigk until the new unitary community of Southern Anhalt was formed on January 1, 2010 . Since then, Pösigk has been a district within the village of Prosigk in the city of southern Anhalt.
