coat of arms

Blazon : "In silver a red church tower with side aisles covered with four silver shields (1: 2: 1), accompanied by two green maple leaves, over a wavy blue shield base covered with an open silver book."

Coat of arms elements: The Schierau church has an architectural specialty with its baroque gable, which is visible from afar. Priorau is the birthplace of Philipp von Zesen - an important 17th century writer in both literature and language development; the open book symbolizes it. All four districts are located in the middle of the Muldeaue and embedded in meadows and deciduous forest. The maple is a very common tree species and was represented with the two accompanying leaves in the coat of arms. The blue base of the corrugated shield symbolizes the hollow .

The coat of arms was designed in 1996 by the Magdeburg municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch .
