geography

Lingenau lies between Dessau-Roßlau and Halle (Saale) on the edge of the Middle Elbe biosphere reserve .

history

1268 was the first documentary mention as "Lyndenowe prope Hoyerstorp" (document by F. Siegfried to the church in Dessau). The village was expanded from 1994 to include the "Am Forsthaus" settlement. The population rose by leaps and bounds to over 200 inhabitants. This trend continues with the closing of the vacant lot on Hauptstraße.

In the course of the incorporation into the city of Raguhn-Jeßnitz in 2011, the street names Hauptstrasse , Siedlung and Am Wald were renamed and are now called Am Lingenauer Wald . The street Am Forsthaus is still called that.
