Thurland is a district of the town of Raguhn-Jeßnitz in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
Thurland lies between Dessau-Roßlau and Halle (Saale) on the edge of the Middle Elbe river landscape biosphere reserve .
Klein Leipzig was designated as a district of the former municipality.
history
In 1308 Thurland was first mentioned in a deed of donation.
On January 1, 2010, the previously independent municipalities of Thurland, Marke , Retzau , Schierau , Altjeßnitz and Tornau vor der Heide and the cities of Jeßnitz (Anhalt) and Raguhn merged to form the city of Raguhn-Jeßnitz. At the same time the administrative community Raguhn , to which Thurland belonged, was dissolved.
Memorials
- Graves in the local cemetery for two Poles , known by name , who were abducted to Germany during the Second World War and were victims of forced labor when they died in the last fighting in April 1945

Culture and sights
Next to the church are war memorials for those who died in the two world wars. Also located in a converted Thurland to the house tower Dutch .
Economy and Infrastructure
Thurland is known for the Thurländer chicken grill and the Thurländer Salat und Feinkost GmbH. Thurland also has a specialist shop for special and oversized sizes, a butcher shop and several construction companies.
There are several wind farms not far from the town.

West of Thurland runs in the immediate vicinity of the federal highway 9 from Leipzig to Berlin and east of the federal highway 184 Bitterfeld-Wolfen - Dessau-Roßlau.
