Marke is a district of the town of Raguhn-Jeßnitz in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Marke is located between Dessau-Roßlau and Bitterfeld-Wolfen in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve .

history

Brand was first mentioned in a document as the Nauendorf brand in 1549 .

On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Marke, Altjeßnitz , Retzau , Schierau , Thurland and Tornau vor der Heide as well as the cities of Jeßnitz (Anhalt) and Raguhn merged to form the city of Raguhn-Jeßnitz. At the same time, the Raguhn administrative community , to which the brand belonged, was dissolved.

The coat of arms was approved by the district on April 24, 2008.

Blazon : "Diagonal left divided by green over gold and covered with a six-fold red-silver slanted left bar, above a left-facing, looking silver sheep, below, like a fan, three green oak leaves covered with a silver acorn in a green capsule."

The colors of the former parish are gold (yellow) - green.

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg heraldist Jörg Mantzsch .

The flag is yellow - green (1: 1) striped (horizontal shape: stripes running horizontally, longitudinal shape: stripes running vertically) and centered with the municipal coat of arms.

West of Marke, the federal motorway 9 from Leipzig to Berlin and the federal highway 184 (Bitterfeld - Dessau) run in the immediate vicinity . The Marke stop is on the Trebnitz – Leipzig railway line , about 1.5 kilometers north of the village and is a stop for regional trains on this route.

Substation

In brand is a 380  kV - transformer station of the network operator 50Hertz Transmission .
