The town of Raguhn-Jeßnitz is a unified municipality in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .
It was created on January 1, 2010 through the merger of the communities Altjeßnitz , Jeßnitz (Anhalt) , Marke , Raguhn , Retzau , Schierau , Thurland and Tornau vor der Heide , which previously belonged to the Raguhn administrative community.

The area of the city of Raguhn-Jeßnitz comprises a section on both sides of the Mulde between the cities of Dessau-Roßlau in the north and Bitterfeld-Wolfen in the south.

In a run-off election on October 11, 2009, Eberhard Berger (CDU) was elected full-time mayor with 65.09 percent. On November 6, 2016, Bernd Marbach was elected as the new mayor with 53.2% of the vote. The incumbent Eberhard Berger received 46.8% of the votes.
City council
The city council was re-elected in the local elections on May 25, 2014 . The turnout was 49.2%. After this election, the 20 seats are divided as follows:

The Trebnitz – Leipzig line opens up the districts of Marke , Raguhn and Jeßnitz (Anhalt) with one stop each . These are served hourly by S-Bahn Central Germany trains.
