Retzau is a district of the town of Raguhn-Jeßnitz in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Retzau lies between Dessau-Roßlau and Halle (Saale) on the edge of the Middle Elbe biosphere reserve on the Mulde .
history
On January 1, 2010, the previously independent communities of Retzau, Marke , Altjeßnitz , Schierau , Thurland and Tornau vor der Heide and the cities of Jeßnitz (Anhalt) and Raguhn merged to form the town of Raguhn-Jeßnitz. At the same time, the Raguhn administrative community , to which Retzau belonged, was dissolved.

The coat of arms was approved by the district on October 10, 2007.
Blazon : "Four green oak leaves placed in a slanting shape, topped with four crossed golden ears, topped with four slanted golden acorns with green capsules."
The colors of the former municipality are - derived from the color of the main coat of arms (oak leaves) and the tincture of the shield - green-silver (white).
The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg municipal heraldist Jörg Mantzsch . It reflects the fact that Retzau was once a grain supplier and was surrounded by oaks. a. for the city of Dessau.
