The Mamasın Dam ( Turkish Mamasın Barajı ) is located 10 km east of the provincial capital Aksaray in the province of the same name .

The Mamasın dam was built in the years 1957–1962 five km east of the village of Gücünkaya on Melendiz Çayı ( Uluırmak ). The construction costs totaled 14,477,000 (old) Turkish Lira. The dam is used to irrigate an area of ​​23,640 ha. The barrier structure is a 44.9 m high stone embankment . The dam volume is 401,000 m³. The reservoir covers an area of ​​9.95 km² in normal traffic jams and can expand up to 16.2 km² when fully jammed. The storage space is 82.15 million m³, at full load it is 165.8 m³.
