The Mamiya RZ67 is a successor to the single -lens reflex camera Mamiya RB67 from the Japanese manufacturer Mamiya from 1970. The camera uses films of the 6x7cm type and special Polaroid films . The successor camera of the RZ67 could also be used with a digital back. Due to the quality of the images, their versatility and ease of use, they were used in advertising, industrial, portrait and landscape photography.

The Mamiya RZ67 is a modular camera. The centerpiece is the camera body, plus various lenses with central locking , viewfinder and camera backs.

General technical description

The Mamiya RZ67 is a single-lens reflex camera with a central shutter for the film type roll film 120 (with 10 exposures) or roll film 220 (with 20 exposures). The 6x7 films are mounted in a cassette - the actual usable recording format of these films is 56.0 x 69.5 mm. Additional cassettes are available for the Polaroid, 6 x 6 and 6 x 4.5.

The standard lenses are the Mamiya Sekor Z 1: 3.5 / 90mm, Mamiya Sekor Z 1.2.8 / 110mm and Mamiya Sekor Z1: 3.8 / 127mm. The lens mount consists of a bayonet with a clamping ring including a safety lock and 12 electrical contacts.

The camera has an electronically controlled central shutter from 8s to 1/400 s as well as B (bulb) and T (time) . The mechanical shutter speed is 1 / 400s and can also be implemented without a battery. The Mamiya has a switchable release lock. The well-level viewfinder can be opened and closed with one hand - the pivoting viewfinder magnifier (to compensate for ametropia) is available in different strengths. The viewfinder shows 95% of the recording format. An orange warning lamp lights up in the viewfinder if the quick-shift lever is not operated or has not been operated fully. A red warning lamp indicates that the slide of the film magazine has not been removed .

The focusing screen consists of a ground glass with a Fresnel lens ; other adjustment washers are optionally available.

The changeable magazine for the recording of the films can be rotated by 90 ° - this enables a change from portrait to landscape format, even though the camera is on a tripod. The focusing screen image adapts to the position of the back by swiveling masks into the viewfinder. The magazine can be changed during a recording session without any problems thanks to the separation from the camera using the magazine slide. This enables the combined use of black and white, slide and color negative film within one recording situation.

The film is transported using the quick-release lever. The picture counter switches, the mirror folds into the basic position and the shutter is cocked.

The focus is adjusted by means of a bellows extension, which is moved with a double rack guide on the side adjustment buttons. The position can be locked at any time.

For multiple exposures, the double exposure lock can be deactivated by flipping the "M" switch. A 6V battery, such as B. PX28. A mirror pre-release for vibration-free work is possible.
