Virginia Raffaele (born September 27, 1980 in Rome ) is an Italian comedian and actress who was best known as an impersonator .

Career

Raffaele grew up in a circus environment. Later she studied dance at the Accademia nazionale di danza in Rome. Together with Francesca Milani and Danilo De Santis, she then appeared in cabaret and worked as a theater actress. With the comedian duo Lillo & Greg she appeared in both theater productions and on television. She also starred in various television series. From 2009 she worked with the comedian trio Gialappa's Band in the Mai dire Grande Fratello Show on Italia 1 and demonstrated her talent for imitating celebrities. Also on Ba7she worked on the show Victor Victoria (with Victoria Cabello ).

In 2010 Raffaele hosted the program Radio2 Social Club on Rai Radio 2 alongside Luca Barbarossa and Andrea Perroni , and from 2011 onwards she was able to make a name for herself primarily in the television program Quelli che il calcio on Rai 2 . She has also appeared in movies, for example in Faccio un salto all'Avana alongside Francesco Pannofino or in Fausto Brizzi's Com'è bello far l'amore . In 2012 she and Pannofino presented the traditional concert of May 1st in Rome, broadcast on Rai 3 . Their many imitations, especially by politicians, repeatedly led to controversy during these years.

Raffaele acted as presenter at the first edition of the MTV Awards 2013 in Florence , she also appeared in the film L'ultima ruota del carro by Giovanni Veronesi that year and was finally awarded the Premio Regia Televisiva as "Television Discovery of the Year". At the side of Michelle Hunziker , she came across the Striscia la notizia program on Canale 5 at the end of the year . After further television appearances, she was a guest at the 2015 Sanremo Festival and subsequently co-host of the 2016 festival alongside Carlo Conti , Gabriel Garko and Mădălina Diana Ghenea . In 2019 she was there again as a co-host.
