Mandurriao is one of the six boroughs of Iloilo City , capital of the province of the same name in the southern part of the Philippine island of Panay and is located in the western part of the Visayas . The former municipality was officially incorporated into Iloilo City in 1937.

The place originally consisted of small villages and extensive rice fields until it was heavily urbanized and economically promoted by the city government in the early 1980s. Here was the old Mandurriao Domestic Airport , which is now being developed by Megaworld Corporation into an industrial extension of the city. This is also where Benigno Aquino Avenue (Diversion Road) is located, where the largest shopping center SM City Iloilo as well as bars, offices, discos, cafes, posh hotels and restaurants are located. The place is now considered the center of the vibrant nightlife in Iloilo City .

Notable sights include the Nightlife Strips of the Smallville Business Complex and Riverside Business Park, as well as the old church and the market square of Plaza Mandurriao .
