Manfred Amelang
Manfred Amelang (born June 28, 1939 in Bad Sulza ) is a German psychologist.
Life
He studied psychology in Marburg with Heinrich Düker (experimental psychology), among others . He then worked for Ferdinand Merz and Helmut von Bracken in Marburg. After receiving his doctorate on December 7, 1966 in Marburg, he was department director and professor (H3) for psychology at the University of Hamburg from 1973 to 1976 . In 1976 he accepted a position in Heidelberg , where he stayed until his retirement . He turned down a call to Marburg in 1992. From 1996 to 1998 he was President of the German Society for Psychology.
