Manfred Behrens (born October 28, 1956 in Magdeburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former administrative enforcement officer.

Manfred Behrens completed an apprenticeship as a motor vehicle mechanic and worked in the catering industry before he was elected mayor of Ebendorf (Barleben) in 1990. Behrens has been a member of the CDU since 1992, and chairman of the CDU local chapters in Barleben / Ebendorf / Meitzendorf since 2004. In 1999 he also moved into the district council for the CDU. From 2001 to 2003 he worked as a member of the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

27 September 2009 won Behrens in the general election the direct mandate in the Bundestag constituency Börde - Jerichower Land and was a member of the German Bundestag . In the 17th electoral term he is a full member of the Interior Committee and a deputy member of the Committee on Family, Seniors, Women and Youth .

In the 2013 Bundestag election he again won the direct mandate for his constituency and is now a member of the Committee for Transport and Digital Infrastructure and continues to be a deputy member of the Committee for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth.

Private

Behrens is a Protestant denomination. He is married and has two daughters and four grandchildren.
