Manfred Emmenegger-Chancellor

Manfred Emmenegger-Chancellor (* 1953 in Waldshut ) is a freelance German sculptor .

Life

After finishing school, Emmenegger-Chancellor trained as a ceramicist from 1979 to 1982. He then studied ceramic design until 1988 at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld . He has been a freelance artist since 1988.

Many of his sculptures made of terracotta or aerated concrete and other materials such as B. Stahl deal with mathematical shapes in a playful way through cuts, curves and folds. His largest workpiece to date, "Transversale", measures 3.70 meters. He has lived and worked in Ottersweier since 1999 .

Awards

He has received several prizes, including the 1st prize for ceramic sculpture / contemporary ceramics in Offenburg in 1989 and the Baden-Württemberg State Prize in 1992. In 2008 he was awarded the artist in residence award of the Ceramic Art Museum in Fuping / China.
