Manfred Günther (actor)

Manfred Günther (born May 21, 1935 in Berlin ; † January 16, 1989 there ) was a German actor.

life and work

Günther first became a bricklayer and later studied at the state drama school in Berlin-Schöneweide. From 1959 to 1961 he worked in the Meiningen Theater (GDR). In 1960/61 he got two bigger roles at DEFA . In West Germany, from 1961 and before the Wall was built, he first worked at various theaters, including in Lucerne / Switzerland, then in numerous films such as Bolwieser ( Rainer Werner Fassbinder , 1977), Caspar David Friedrich - Grenz der Zeit (1986), Molle with Korn (1989) and TV productions, including Schwarzwaldklinik , Tatort and Liebling Kreuzberg . In total, he played roles in over 280 productions. He died before the wall opened.
