Manfred Grohmann (* 1953 in Emmershausen , Taunus) is a German civil engineer.

Grohmann studied at the TU Darmstadt (diploma 1979), was briefly in the construction industry and from 1981 was assistant at the chair for foundation engineering and soil mechanics at the TU Darmstadt. With his fellow student Klaus Bollinger , he founded the engineering office Bollinger und Grohmann in Frankfurt am Main in 1983, which became known for structural planning for the designs of a number of avant-garde architects such as Coop Himmelb (l) au and Zaha Hadid . Her projects include the BMW Welt Munich, the Rolex Learning Center and the new ECB building in the listed former wholesale market hall in Frankfurt (for other projects see Klaus Bollinger ).

In 1996 he became professor for structural engineering in the architecture department at the University of Kassel. He also held teaching positions at the Technical University of Darmstadt, the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and the École Spéciale d'Architecture (ESA) in Paris.

He has been on the Executive Council of the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) since 2010 and holds honorary professorships at the University of Nottingham and the University of Melbourne .
