Manfred Kuhmichel (born April 8, 1943 in Castrop-Rauxel ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 2012 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1962, Kuhmichel studied mathematics, English, history and politics for teaching at elementary schools at the Essen University of Education until 1965 . In 1965 he passed the first state examination, the second followed in 1968. In 1973 he was appointed deputy principal for history and politics and in 1978 principal school principal.

Kuhmichel became a member of the CDU in 1969. Since 1976 he has been chairman of the Essen-Burgaltendorf local union and since 1993 he has been deputy chairman of the Essen district association. He was a member of the Essen City Council from 1979 to 1990, where he was deputy parliamentary group chairman from 1984 to 1990. Since 2004 he has been represented in the Essen City Council as a competent citizen in the Committee for Sports and Swimming Pools. Since June 8, 2005 he has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, where he was the spokesman for science policy for the CDU parliamentary group from 1995 to 2005. Until 2012 he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and also a member of the council of elders. In addition, Kuhmichel was a full member of the Committee for Innovation, Science, Research and Technology, the Culture Committee and the Standing Committee under Article 40 of the state constitution. He is also the first chairman of the football department of the ETB Schwarz-Weiß Essen .
