Manfred Pfister (literary scholar)

Manfred Pfister (* 1943 ) is a German literary scholar .

After his state examination in 1968 at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , Pfister received his doctorate there in 1972 .

In 1978 he completed his habilitation (also at the LMU) and in 1980 was given a professorship in English literature at the University of Passau . In 1991 he switched to a professorship at the Free University of Berlin .

Since 2007 he has been a full member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences .
