Manfred Poerschke

Manfred Poerschke (born February 26, 1934 in Dortmund ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant who - starting for Germany - won the silver medal at the European Championships in 1958 with the German 4 x 400 meter relay (3:08, 2 min: Carl Kaufmann , Manfred Poerschke, Johannes Kaiser , Karl-Friedrich Haas ). He also started at the Olympic Games in 1956 and finished fourth in the 4 x 400 meter relay (3: 08.2 min). With the 4 × 400 m relay of the OSV Hörde, he won four German championships. In the individual competition on the 400 m distance at the German championships, however, he only managed to get 3rd place once (1957) because of the strong competition. Poerschke started for the sports club OSV Hörde . In his playing days he was 1.83 m tall and weighed 85 kg.
