Manfred Richter (politician, 1951)

Manfred Richter (born October 15, 1951 in Segeletz, Wusterhausen / Dosse ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament .

Life and work

Richter was born in Segeletz. At the same time as attending the extended secondary school in Kyritz , he completed vocational training as a lathe operator at the Pritzwalk gear factory . In 1970 he graduated from high school and became a skilled worker. From 1972 to 1976 he studied at the Berlin School of Economics and graduated with a degree in economics. He then worked until 1990 as head of economics at the FDGB holiday service in Rheinsberg .

Richter is married and has one child.

He has been a member of the SPD since 1990 and was full-time mayor of Rheinsberg until 2009 . During this time the city became a health resort.

In the state elections in September 2009, he was elected to the Brandenburg state parliament in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin I state constituency. He became a member of the legal committee and local political spokesman for his group. In 2014 Richter did not run again. In the same year he was elected to the district assembly of Ostprignitz-Ruppin, of which he has been chairman ever since.
