Manfred Schitthof

Manfred Schitthof (* 1946 ; † 2003 ) was a German national basketball player .

career

Schitthof, whose home club was VfL Bad Kreuznach , played international matches for the German junior team and for the senior national team.

At the club level, the development player also played for Grün-Weiß Frankfurt, in 1972 he moved within the basketball league  from USC Mainz  to 1. FC Bamberg and was Bamberg's third-best points collector in the 1972/73 season (286 points).

In 1974, Schitthof left Bamberg. He returned to VfL Bad Kreuznach and became the player-coach of the men's team, which rose to the regional league under his leadership. From 1980 he concentrated on coaching positions, which he exercised in the following years in Kaiserslautern, Mainz and Kirchheimbolanden, among others.
