Career

Schulte began playing football in 1971 as a youth at JSG Rhede / Brual / Neurhede , where he stayed until 1977 and then moved to Amisia Papenburg . At Amisia he played from 1977 to 1987 in both youth and men. In 1986 he moved to VfB Oldenburg for three years , after his time in Oldenburg he moved to SV Meppen in 1989, where he played in the 2nd Bundesliga, the regional league and the major league for the next eleven years. He then moved to TuS Weener until December 2000. After half a year he returned to Papenburg in January 2001 and played for half a year for the district division, where he ended his career in the summer of 2001.

As a trainer

After the end of his career, Schulte became a coach at SC Blau-Weiß Papenburg in 2001 and was promoted to the district league with the club in 2005. After the district league promotion, he left Papenburg in spring 2007. After leaving Papenburg in June 2007 , the district league club SV Strücklingen signed Schulte as the coach of the first team. After three years, he left the team from the municipality of Saterland in the summer of 2010 . In the summer of 2012, he hired his former club Blau-Weiß Papenburg as a coach. On April 10, 2013 Schulte announced that he wanted to leave the club at the end of the season, but after this unexpected announcement to the board, he was released from his position on April 12, 2013.
