Manfred von Golitschek

Manfred von Golitschek , actually Manfred Golitschek Edler von Elbwart, (born August 7, 1943 ) is a German mathematician.

Manfred von Golitschek received his doctorate in 1969 under Paul Otto Runck at the University of Würzburg (Jackson's theorems for a special polynomial class). In 1974 he became a professor in Würzburg. In 2008 he retired.

Manfred von Golitschek was visiting scholar at the University of California, Riverside , the University of Texas at Austin , the University of Tel Aviv , the University of Alberta at Edmonton, the Universities of Lancaster and Leicester in England, the University of Caen and Vanderbilt University of Nashville.

At first he dealt with analysis, then also with applied questions (collaboration with radiation doctors), graph theory and numerics .
